Markus Potties


This is a video that I made Sophomore year. It was a chase scene of Markus running to find a restroom to go to the bathroom in. The overall purpose of this assignment was to film creative and interesting shots leading a subject from point A to point B while being "chased" or in this case followed through his path to the restroom.

Doing this project over a year ago I don't fully remember every step that we did as a team in order to set up for this video. I would assume we story boarded and then went and filmed the shots exactly how they were on the sheet. Through the process of making this project I obtained better cooperation skills with others and learned that I need to improve on over the shoulder following shots.

If I went back and made changes I would definitely use a dolly in order to film those
over the shoulder following shots so they were more steady. Another thing I would change is the focus on some shots they seemed to be a little blurry but it may just be my computer screen. Everything else I would do the same because the continuation was really well done and planned out it was also really fun working alongside my friend Markus.

Overall, I now use a dolly for moving shots and not myself that was a huge lesson from this video. Making this video was one of my favorites because it was one of my first that I truly came up with my idea for and everything.

Chase Scene

This project was a chase scene that was a sequence of around 30 shots. The shots used were medium, wide, close up, extreme close up, point of view, and over the shoulder. What it took to make this video was before we filmed we made a storyboard, next we took 2 hours to film the shots we had on our storyboard, finally I edited the video in Final Cut Pro. I learned how to color correct in final cut pro which helped make my shots look better. No new camera shots or angles were used in the video so I didn't learn anything in the camera category. If I could go back now and change something I would make some more of the shots have a better white balance in the hallways because they were kind of yellowish. All of the other shots and angles I would keep the same because they all looked really well in the finish. In the next project I will white balance more often to make the shots look better. Blood and Legos

Blood Drive This is a news report over the ONW blood drive on Nov. 14 2014 that I edited and filmed with my video team of Kit Walters and Victoria Scarduzio . I had to make sure to capture important story telling shots about the ONW blood drive, we chose to follow sophomore Olivia Contractor.  There was no tripod use so all of the shots were shot in a particular stance to make them as steady as possible. Once we were done filming we brought it back to edit, using a very import editing technique called JNL edits. A JNL edit is where you see the subject speaking before they are heard in the video.  That new technique was the most important thing that I learned from this news report process. After seeing the shots and how it turned out, most likely if I did it again I would ask Olivia more questions and do my best to make steadier shots. Professional Project Review: 21 Jump Street

21 Jump Street I absolutely love this movie! It is and will always be one of my favorite comedy movies. This movie is overall a hilarious piece of art. The story is very funny and has many great points throughout it. The irony in the story is also a valuable part in it in story. In which the main characters Schmidt and Jenko were once enemies then became friends then enemies and once again back to friends. It also presents a solid mystery in trying to find the drug lord, in which I truly didn't see being conveyed through the story for who it actually was. I never saw the old show  (left) that it was based off of. Inferring the old show was as funny and interesting as this it must have been a hit!  This movie already has a sequel  22 Jump Street  which I thought was as equally amazing!   I hope that a third movie could be created because both of these movies were brilliantly comedic and had a fantastic story to build wi...
